If you want to make your own ice cream, then you will need ice cream makers to produce great ice cream.

There are two different types you can buy, the first one is a manual type, these are the less expensive versions and require some phsyical effort to keep stirring the mixture. The manual type comes with two bowls, the outer bowl contains a mix of ice and salt, and the inner bowl contains the mixing mechanism. The way this process works is that the salt melts the ice and this then draws the heat out of your mixture in the inner bowl to provide the freezing aspect.

The electric type makes this process much easier, they have a built in mechanism which does all the work for you, all you do is just add your ingredients and push a button and it goes to work producing your ice cream while you can get on with other things you might want to do.

This type is more expensive than the manual type, but the extra cost is worth it in the long term, as it saves you time and effort in producing your ice cream. The best thing about having your own ice cream makers is that you can use your imagination and produce your very own flavours.

With some types you have to put the bowl in the freezer for an hour or so while the ice cream freezes, then you have to take it out and let it settle into a creamy texture before serving. If you have plenty of time to produce your ice cream, then this type would be the cheaper option to buy.

But i like the idea of putting the ingredients in and pressing a button to make your ice cream, then after twenty or thirty minutes you can start enjoying fantastic ice cream straight from your ice cream maker.
